Rural share of Karnataka population to fall to 30% by 2047
A new Karnataka State Regional Urbanisation Plan projects that the state's rural population will shrink from roughly 36 million today to about 24 million by 2047, reducing the rural share of the total population to around 30 percent. The shift reflects ongoing urban migration and development policies aimed at expanding city infrastructure over the next two decades.
