Chennai Corporation directs engineers to undertake milling before relaying roads to prevent rise in levels
Chennai’s municipal corporation has instructed its engineering teams to perform milling of existing road surfaces before laying new bitumen layers. The directive aims to stop the practice of repeatedly adding fresh layers that raise road elevations, which the corporation says can cause drainage and other issues. Commissioner G.S. Sameeran emphasized that this approach will maintain consistent road levels.
