‘You need the power of all your votes’: Bedouin women secure success for Arab parties in Israeli election
Bedouin women in Israel’s Negev mobilised their community, urging full voter participation. Their high turnout among roughly 180,000 eligible Bedouin voters helped Palestinian‑aligned Arab parties secure a historic 19 seats in the Knesset. Analysts say the coordinated effort demonstrated the electoral influence of a traditionally under‑represented demographic. The election, held in November, saw the Arab bloc surpass previous records, prompting discussions about future coalition possibilities.
