The Andhra Pradesh government plans to invest 3,000 crore rupees to upgrade irrigation drains across the Godavari basin. The upgrade aims to prevent recurring flooding that damages crops. Chief Minister said the project will provide a lasting fix. During Cyclone Arnab, 4.68 TMC of rainwater was redirected to reservoirs. This initiative follows recent efforts to improve water management and protect agricultural livelihoods in the region.
