India has identified artificial intelligence and maritime security as central themes for its bid for a seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2028‑29 term. Ambassador Parvathaneni emphasized protecting freedom of navigation and commercial shipping, noting that recent assaults on vessels at key sea routes illustrate how disruptions can affect global trade beyond the immediate region.
