Witness protection scheme: Kerala High Court seeks State government’s response to PIL
Kerala’s High Court has asked the state government to answer a public‑interest petition concerning the witness‑protection programme. The court noted delays in rolling out the scheme, which is intended to assess threats, provide security, set up dedicated authorities and cells, conduct periodic reviews and maintain a protection fund. The government must now detail its implementation plan.
