Days after Theni jailbreak, Tamil Nadu Prisons DGP Sandeep Rai Rathore transferred
Following the escape of 17 remand inmates from the Thekkampatti sub‑jail near Andipatti in Theni district on October 26, who were later recaptured by special teams, Tamil Nadu’s Director General of Prisons Sandeep Rai Rathore has been transferred to a new posting. Authorities said the reassignment seeks to improve prison management and prevent future escapes.
