Israel election results live: count of absentee ballots under way as coalition talks set to begin
Israel’s parliamentary election count continues with absentee ballots being tallied, while preliminary results show Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s bloc retaining a lead. Opposition leader Gadi Eisenkot’s chance of forming a government hinges on his openness to coalition partners that include Palestinian parties, analysts say. The remaining vote count is not expected to materially alter the overall outcome.
