Karnataka SIR: 64.5 lakh voters potentially missing in rolls, majority of them young

According to the Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer’s latest elector‑to‑population ratio, approximately 6.45 million eligible citizens are not listed on the voter register. Around 3.84 million of those missing voters are aged between 18 and 29, indicating a significant shortfall among young adults in the state’s electoral rolls. The data, part of the Statewise Index of Registration released by the CEO, underscores the need for targeted enrolment drives.
