Tamil Nadu's government has given preliminary approval for constructing new facilities for the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court. The state's Attorney General informed Justices G. Jayachandran and K.K. Ramakrishnan that a formal government order is expected within the next two weeks, after which a foundation‑stone laying ceremony will be scheduled to proceed with the project.
