MPTC, ZPTC polls in Andhra Pradesh moved to November 5; civic polls stay on November 1 despite cyclone
The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission has postponed the Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) elections to November 5, while municipal (civic) elections will still be held on November 1. Officials said the shift is needed because there are not enough staff to tally civic votes and conduct the rural polls on the same day.
