Karnataka Council polls: Upset for Congress as it loses Bengaluru Teachers’ constituency
Congress suffered a setback in Karnataka’s recent Legislative Council elections, losing the Bengaluru Teachers’ constituency. The outcome may benefit the ruling NDA alliance, which experienced unexpected cross‑voting by eleven of its own MLAs during the June contest for seven council seats. Analysts view the loss as a potential boost for the coalition’s position in the state.
