Cyclone Arnab: Thoothukudi fishermen stay away from sea due to bad weather

Following the approach of Cyclone Arnab in the Bay of Bengal, the India Meteorological Department warned of rough sea conditions. As a result, fishermen operating mechanised deep‑sea vessels from Thoothukudi have been instructed to return to shore and remain off the water until conditions improve. Authorities emphasized that the heightened winds and swells could endanger crews, urging them to prioritize safety over catches.
