Cyclone Arnab: 609 Andhra schools turn into relief shelters
In response to Cyclone Arnab, authorities in Andhra Pradesh have repurposed 609 schools across 16 coastal districts as emergency shelters. All schools in the affected zones remain closed. Additionally, 17,054 volunteers from the National Cadet Corps, National Service Scheme and Scout groups have been deployed to assist with relief operations. The shelters are equipped to supply food, water and basic medical care to displaced residents.
