A lasting political settlement for Sri Lankan Tamils is in India’s interests, says Jaffna’s former Mayor
Former Jaffna mayor Visvalingam Manivannan said that achieving a durable political settlement for Sri Lanka’s Tamil community would serve India’s strategic interests. He added that members of the Tamil diaspora living in Western countries are currently unable to travel directly to Jaffna, limiting their involvement in the peace process.
