After years of demand, lights on crash-prone Container Road
The state government has installed 1,100 streetlights along the 17‑kilometre stretch of NH 966A, known as Container Road, after years of public demand. The ₹10 crore project seeks to curb frequent accidents, crime and waste dumping that have plagued the corridor, which recorded over two dozen fatalities in the past decade. Local residents and officials had long complained about the hazardous conditions.
