Assam approves 12% reservation for former Agniveers
Assam's cabinet approved a 12% reservation for former Agniveers—ex‑servicemen who finished the three‑year short service commission—in state jobs. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the first recruitment under the scheme will start in 2027, covering all government departments and public sector units, as part of the state's veteran welfare initiative.
