West Bengal CM urges Durga Puja committees to give up State support, announces restrictions
West Bengal chief minister Suvendu Adhikari told Durga Puja organizers to decline any financial assistance from the state and said the government will impose new limits on celebrations. He announced that no puja inauguration may occur before Mahalaya, the start of the Devi Paksha, and that the state will not hold a carnival this year.
