SIR: Over 99.32 lakh names struck off voter list in Karnataka
Karnataka’s electoral roll has been trimmed by more than 9.9 million entries under the State Implementation of Revision (SIR). The update reduces the number of registered voters to roughly 45.5 million (45,500,011) from about 55.4 million (55,432,314) before the exercise began. The SIR aims to remove duplicate, deceased or otherwise ineligible names, improving list accuracy, reports The Hindu.
