Supreme Court asks States, UTs to allocate funds to build bar rooms, washrooms for women advocates
India’s Supreme Court, in a bench led by Chief Justice Surya Kant with Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana, urged all states and union territories to earmark budget for constructing dedicated bar rooms and restroom facilities for female lawyers. The judges highlighted the current shortage of such spaces and insisted that provisions be made irrespective of the number of women advocates.
