Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Brazil’s President‑elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva after Lula secured a fourth term, defeating Flávio Bolsonaro by about 4.4 million votes. The message highlighted the two countries’ long‑standing ties and expressed hopes for continued cooperation on trade, climate and regional issues. Lula’s win returns him to office after serving from 2003‑2010.
