Ernakulam district panchayat in Keralam to speed up sterilisation of dogs
The Ernakulam district panchayat in Kerala announced plans to accelerate its dog sterilisation programme. Two Animal Birth Control centres, located in the Mulanthuruthy and Vadavucode block panchayats, are functional and each can treat more than 100 dogs monthly for sterilisation and vaccination. However, both centres have consistently fallen short of their intended targets, according to officials.
