Free travel scheme: Keralam govt. releases ₹88.23 crore to KSRTC to cover revenue loss

The Kerala government has transferred 88.23 crore rupees to the state transport corporation to offset the revenue shortfall from its Priyadarshini free‑travel program for women. During September, more than 4.16 million female passengers used the scheme, prompting the subsidy to ensure continued operation of the service. The allocation aims to maintain service levels without raising fares and support the corporation's financial stability.
