Ray of hope for drought-hit Telangana as low pressure over Bay of Bengal likely to bring heavy rain
India’s meteorological agency has warned that a low‑pressure system over the Bay of Bengal could bring substantial rain to Telangana, which has been suffering from drought. A red alert covers the districts of Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam, with forecasts of heavy to very heavy precipitation and the possibility of isolated extremely heavy showers in the coming days.
