Cauvery panel directs Karnataka to release water at the rate of 3,000 cusecs to Tamil Nadu for next 15 days
India’s Cauvery water management tribunal has instructed Karnataka to supply Tamil Nadu with water at a flow of 3,000 cubic feet per second for the next fifteen days. Tamil Nadu had requested a higher release of 14,236 cusecs, citing a backlog of roughly 13.8 tmcft. Karnataka argues the demand is untenable due to a severe drought affecting its reservoirs.
