‘Unusual’ names, details crop up in electoral roll for MLC polls in U.P.; ECI cites software error
Election officials in Uttar Pradesh discovered irregular entries, including atypical names and personal details, on the electoral roll for the Allahabad-Jhansi graduates constituency ahead of elections for eleven Legislative Council seats. The Election Commission attributed the anomalies to a software glitch that affected the roll's data processing, and it is reviewing the list before the scheduled polling.
