Telangana did not figure among top States with improvements in dealing with POCSO cases
Telangana failed to rank among the leading states in improving the handling of cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, according to a recent report. In the past ten years the state recorded 31,117 POCSO cases, but more than half—approximately 52.5%—remain awaiting trial, a delay attributed to the absence of dedicated fast‑track courts.
