Karnataka plans 200 cochlear implants for children with hearing loss
The Karnataka government announced a plan to provide 200 cochlear implants to children with hearing impairment. The initiative, part of the "Aalisu Kanda" programme, has already completed 575 surgeries for the 2025‑26 fiscal year. The first batch of 75 additional implants is slated for completion within the next two months. The health department says the effort will boost communication skills for affected children.
