Sloth bear trapped in oil palm fence rescued in Andhra’s Kakinada district, sent to Visakhapatnam zoo
An adult male sloth bear that became stuck in an oil‑palm fence in Kakinada district, Andhra Pradesh, was rescued and transferred to the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park in Visakhapatnam. The animal is being monitored there for two days, after which officials plan to release it back into its natural habitat, wildlife specialist D. Mahesh Babu said.
