CJP leaders released after court rejects police plea for extended custody
Delhi’s Special Executive Magistrate ordered the release of Cockroach Janta Party leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka after they spent a week in judicial custody. The men had been detained following an October 13 demonstration at Jantar Mantar, when police sought a preventive extension. The court freed them after they pledged not to stage further protests at the denotified site or disrupt public order.
