SIR Enumeration Form may have violated electoral rules prescribing Form-4 for collecting voter details
The Election Commission has raised concerns that the SIR (Special Intensive Revision) Enumeration Form may have breached the Representation of the People Act, 1960, which mandates the use of Form‑4 for collecting voter information during any type of roll revision. Officials say the alternative form could contravene Rule 8, which specifies the official procedure for gathering electors’ details.
