West Bengal government sets up SIT headed by retired justice to probe Durga Puja pandal stampede
West Bengal’s government has created a Special Investigation Team to examine the recent stampede at a Durga Puja pandal. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced that the panel will be led by a senior judge from the Calcutta High Court. The SIT is tasked with determining the causes, accountability, and recommending preventive measures.
