ULB polls in Andhra Pradesh: SEC orders strict implementation of Supreme Court’s directions
India’s State Election Commission has directed that local body elections in Andhra Pradesh proceed as scheduled, adhering to Supreme Court orders, but has paused voting in 19 municipal corporations and municipalities where extensive reports of intimidation and physical assaults have been lodged. The commission said strict enforcement of the court’s directives will ensure a free and fair poll process.
