Tamil Nadu rain: Schools in Chennai, four other districts declare holiday
Heavy rain fell across Chennai and four other districts in Tamil Nadu, prompting school authorities to announce a holiday. Meteorological stations recorded up to 12 cm of precipitation at Meenambakkam and 11 cm at Nungambakkam, with similar totals in Taramani, Madhavaram, Villivakkam and Nandanand. The decision aims to protect students and staff from flooding and slippery roads.
