President promulgates LAHDC Regulation, paves the way for hill council polls in all eight districts of Ladakh
India’s President has issued the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Regulation, allowing elections for hill councils across all eight districts of the union territory, including the recently formed Sankoo district. Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena described the move as historic, noting it was completed in just six days and will establish LAHDC bodies throughout Ladakh.
