ESA's Hera Will View Asteroid Scars from DART's Strike

Europe’s Space Agency plans to launch the Hera spacecraft to study the binary asteroid system that was targeted by NASA’s DART mission. Hera will arrive several years after the impact, allowing scientists to examine the crater and assess how the kinetic‑deflection technique altered the asteroid’s trajectory, providing crucial data for planetary‑defence strategies and improve future mitigation efforts.
