After ten years of stalled activity, the coastal site of Pattanam in Kerala seeks a fresh strategic direction. Excavations have uncovered an ancient settlement that was part of an extensive trade network, but the broader research and educational initiatives were halted. Restoring these programmes could reposition Pattanam as an international hub for interdisciplinary study, education and local engagement.
