El Nino concerns: Hyderabad tanker bookings double; households told to cut water use by 20%
El Nino concerns have led Hyderabad to double tanker bookings as authorities urge residents to reduce water use by 20%. The Ground Water Department reports that of the 16 mandals in the district, only three have received normal rainfall, while 13 are experiencing deficits. The move aims to mitigate the drought‑like conditions and to preserve scarce resources.
