Six forest officials suspended for letting tribals illegally cultivate over 1,000 acres of land in Jawadhu Hills
Six forest department officials have been suspended after an investigation found they accepted bribes to permit tribal families to farm on more than 1,000 acres in the Jawadhu Hills, beyond areas authorized for cultivation. The officials also promised land titles in breach of the 2006 Forest Rights Act. The probe indicates involvement of 600‑700 tribal residents.
