Centre committed to meeting demands of the region, says Ladakh Chief Secretary
Ladakh’s Chief Secretary said the central government remains committed to addressing the region’s demands. He noted that the Home Ministry’s draft, which civil society groups had turned down, sought constitutional changes and rules to create a directly elected union‑territory council. The official added that successful ongoing talks will depend on building mutual trust between parties.
