Madras HC directs officials to decide on Kalingarayan Canal water release within two weeks
The Madras High Court ordered state officials to determine within fourteen days whether water will be released into the Kalingarayan Canal. The canal supplies irrigation to roughly 15,700 acres in Erode district. Renovation activities have halted flow during the normal season, leaving crops in the region under water stress. The court emphasized the urgency of addressing the shortage to protect farmers' livelihoods.
