CCMB scientists develop genetic toolkit to shine light on TB’s inner workings
Researchers at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology have engineered a set of 40 shuttle vectors that carry fluorescent tags, allowing Mycobacterium tuberculosis proteins to be visualized under a microscope. The toolkit aims to facilitate detailed study of the bacterium’s biology and could accelerate development of new diagnostics and treatments for tuberculosis in humans.
