Cheruvayal Raman, a 74‑year‑old farmer from Kerala known locally as ‘Nellachan’, died on Wednesday afternoon while being treated for a heart condition at Kozhikode Medical College Hospital. The state government organized a ceremonial cremation with official honours, attended by senior officials.
