Kerala Assembly unanimously passes resolution asking Union government to accept State’s revised ESA proposal

Kerala’s legislative assembly unanimously adopted a resolution urging the central government to approve the state’s revised Ecologically Sensitive Area (ESA) plan, which spans roughly 8,590.69 square kilometres across 98 revenue villages. The resolution asks the Union to issue the final ESA notification for the Western Ghats only after reviewing the state’s submission, aiming to protect local interests.
