‘Enlighten us’ on the prohibitory orders, preserve all CCTV footage: Supreme Court directs Centre, police
India’s Supreme Court ordered the central government and police to retain all CCTV recordings and clarify the basis of recent prohibitory orders. The bench also issued notices in every pending petition, covering a challenge by an opposition coalition against the chief election commissioner and the Special Investigation Report, as well as the removal of Jantar Mantar’s status as a designated protest area.
