Israeli firm’s digital ads enabling installation of ‘zero-click’ spyware, researchers say
Researchers at the University of Toronto say an Israeli advertising firm’s platform, Controlium, can embed spyware in online ads that installs without any user interaction. The software allegedly profiles large numbers of internet users and then covertly compromises selected targets, enabling what is described as ‘zero‑click’ attacks. The findings raise concerns about the misuse of digital‑ad infrastructure.
