Women’s seats in Kadapa, Pulivendula draw leaders’ spouses, Jagan’s aunt into the fray
Two reserved seats for women in the Kadapa district have attracted attention as senior political figures and their relatives enter the race. In Pulivendula, the ruling YSR Congress Party nominated Y.S. Prameelamma, the aunt of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, to contest against Thugutla Geetha Kumari of the Telugu Desam Party. Similar involvement of spouses is seen in other local contests.
