Anbumani seeks 30% Deepavali bonus for public sector workers
Union Minister Anbumani Ramadoss has called for increasing the Deepavali bonus for government employees to 30 percent, up from the current 20 percent ceiling that has been unchanged since 2004. He noted that under the existing rule, staff receive bonuses ranging from roughly ₹7,000 to ₹16,800, depending on the wage ceiling. He urged the government to revise the policy promptly.
