Disproportionate assets’ case: Kerala HC suspends sentence of former DGP Tomin J. Thachankary
Kerala’s High Court has stayed the conviction of former police chief Tomin J. Thachankary in a disproportionate‑assets case. The court halted his sentence after he appealed, claiming the sanction order was flawed and that authorities had incorrectly calculated his rental earnings, property income, financial support from relatives and assets purchased by his wife. The suspension remains pending further proceedings.
