Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar takes charge as full-time Governor of Tamil Nadu
Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has been appointed the full‑time Governor of Tamil Nadu. He was already serving as Kerala’s governor and had been handling Tamil Nadu’s gubernatorial duties in an additional capacity since 5 March 2026. The new appointment ends the interim arrangement, while he continues to hold the Kerala governorship, overseeing both states. In his role, he will perform duties, oversee state administration and act as the constitutional head.
